Routing for Communities film festival: On 3 December, we will hold an online screening of films about community networks and people decentralising the internet for change in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The Communications Authority of Kenya just adopted a Licensing and Shared Spectrum Framework for Community Networks after holding a public consultation in the country and promoting a process that allowed the development of the framework in partnership with multiple stakeholders. In Brazil, Nupef Institute, Idec and Artigo 19 have just launched a study offering an analysis on the situation of community networks in the country and highlighting their potential for democratising internet access (available in Portuguese). Read more.

The publication Digital Skills Insights 2021 examines the future digital skills ecosystem and the importance of digital skills in a world shaped by the pandemic. Among the eight articles in this year’s edition, you can find the "Capacity development for Indigenous communities of the Americas region" giving an analysis on the importance of training processes fostering self-determination and strengthening different ways of life through ICTs.
