How can we use digital technologies to better protect the environment? This was the focus of a Twitter chat hosted by APC during Earth Day and joined by members of our network and other organisations and individuals interested in this issue.

Participants gathered around the hashtags #EarthDay and #TechandClimateJustice to have a conversation about the challenges digital technologies pose on the environment and how to address them and work for a better future. The conversation revolved around four main questions:

  • In your view, what is the most relevant impact of digital technologies on the environment?

  • What are you doing locally to take action in response to climate crises?

  • How can the repair and reuse of digital technologies help to protect the Earth?

  • What future do you envision for digital technologies and the environment? What are your dreams for the future?
