Liy has supported feminist, youth, and queer faith movement building in Southeast Asia and the Larger World (Global South) for over five years through documentation and coordinating network activities. They joined APC as executive administrator in 2021. They are interested in collective memory (archival and retrieval), systems thinking, and disability justice.
Previously, they gathered 15 years of media, entertainment and lifestyle communications experience – mostly leading publicity portfolios. Five years after Liy was first teargassed at a rally for fair elections, they represented Malaysia’s only non-partisan youth voter registration NGO and helped increase the youth vote in the country’s historic 14th general elections. Their current favourite achievement is maintaining over 20 years of journal entries and a few houseplants.
Purpose of position
The executive administrator supports organisational planning and governance activities under the supervision of the executive director. This involves operational and administrative support to APC’s planning and evaluation processes, APC staff meetings and internal communications, support to APC’s board meetings and operations, and providing proactive support for the work of APC’s executive director and executive team.
