The Collaboration on International ICT Policy for East and Southern Africa (CIPESA) and the Association for Progressive Communications (APC) are proud to host the upcoming Forum on Internet Freedom in Africa 2017 (FIFAfrica). In the spirit of multistakeholderism, we invite your thoughts and proposals for sessions that can form part of FIFAfrica17. Take part in shaping the discussions at the upcoming FIFAfrica and send your suggestions for session topics by completing this form here.
Furthermore, there are additional activities that are taking place prior to or alongside the Forum. These include digital security clinics, award ceremonies and training workshops. Do you have an idea of additional activities we should explore? Share a few details of your idea for a session at #FIFAfrica17.
Successful session proposals will be listed on the Forum website on 10 August 2017. Review of proposals will be ongoing from time of submission until public listing.

About FIFAfrica 2017
This year’s edition of the Forum will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 27-29 September. The decision to hold the event here will contribute to expanding the physical footprint of FIFAfrica, which has since its inception in 2014 been held in Kampala, Uganda.
This landmark event convenes various stakeholders from the internet governance and online rights arenas in Africa and beyond to deliberate on gaps, concerns and opportunities for advancing the right to privacy, access to information, free expression, non-discrimination, and the free flow of information online.
The Forum brings together human rights defenders, journalists, government officials, private sector players, global information intermediaries, bloggers, developers, the arts community, law enforcers and regulators – all of whom have a role to play in advancing internet freedom in Africa.
