Jokkolabs Banjul

Jokkolabs is an independent non-profit organisation that is an open innovation ecosystem and a virtual cluster for social transformation based on an organic community of entrepreneurs and a network of innovation centres. There are Jokkolabs hubs located in Abidjan, Bamako, Banjul, Dakar, Douala, Nanterre, Ouagadougou and Ziguinchor.

Jokkolabs is a pioneer in open innovation, digital transformation and social entrepreneurship in Africa, and works to structure an ecosystem where collaborative dynamics bring about change. Its vision is to create a digital innovation ecosystem, leading to new ways of collaborating, experimenting and creating. This open and collaborative dynamic aims to contribute to the collective achievement of shared prosperity.

Jokkolabs Banjul works in the following areas:

• Programmes for startups (pre-incubation, incubation, mentorship and training)

• ICT for development

• ICT and education

• Digital security

• ICT training

• Internet governance internship/research programmes for undergraduate and graduate studies

• Youth entrepreneurship and ICT

• Digital media for advocacy

• Kiddies ICT & Creative Summer Camp and monthly meet-up sessions for kids

• Examination testing services

• Provision of high-quality tested ICT equipment (hardware/software solutions).

Jokkolabs Banjul also used to run the Gambia YMCA Computer Training Centre and Digital Studio.
