RightsCon, an annual event at the intersection of human rights and technology, will be held in its 12th edition from 5-8 June 2023 in Costa Rica and online. Over 600 sessions will range across 15 thematic tracks, and APC will focus particularly on two themes: gender and sexuality and climate and environmental justice, as well as presenting a much-needed gender-responsive perspective on cybersecurity.
Alongside the APC network's various forms of participation in sessions and events, this year we will also present our second series of Local Sound Bites, which we inaugurated at the last 2022 global IGF in Ethiopia. We will publish a daily audio segment where we speak with local actors in the host country, Costa Rica, to engage with and learn from voices on the ground.
At RightsCon, APC's Local Sound Bites will feature activists about issues in Central America and especially the environmental struggles and advances being made in the region. We hope you will join us as we engage with some of the most urgent issues that affect us all today and into our collective future.
