WOUGNET
During RightsCon 2020, the Women of Uganda Network (WOUGNET) hosted a session on non-consensual sharing of intimate images (NCII), a form of online violence that is on the rise in Uganda and other sub-Saharan African countries, commonly referred to as “revenge porn”.
This report highlights the different aspects of tech-related violence against women in Uganda, their implications and solutions proposed, with the aim of addressing this growing concern.
At this year's RightsCon event, WOUGNET and Research ICT Africa co-organised a session that aimed at exploring key issues and constraints facing marginalised women: often invisible groups rarely talked about and catered for.
