The digitisation of Zimbabwe’s judiciary marks a significant stride forward in the nation’s digital transformation. However, there’s an immediate need for cross-sector collaboration to ensure that this advancement doesn’t restrict access to justice.

This is the third annual Privacy Scorecard Report produced by Unwanted Witness. The 2023 report took stock of compliance with data protection and privacy laws and regulations in four countries: Mauritius, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Uganda.

Following their participation at the 2023 African Internet Governance Forum, the Media Awareness and Justice Initiative (MAJI) identified several key issues affecting digital inclusion, expansion and use across Africa as well as recommendations for the way forward.

Last year the highest number of internet shutdowns were recorded in the world, and we must equip defenders with strategies to bypass such blocking. APC has developed a game-based training to help understand internet infrastructure, shutdown procedures and circumvention tools.
