Karen has worked in the field of online communications since 1997. She has lived in Latin America for more than twenty years and currently lives in Uruguay.
Together with a small multilingual team, working virtually, she manages the APC.org website which provides key information on ICTs for development and social justice in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese. She is editor-in-chief of the APCNews e-newsletter, which is also published in French and Spanish, and of APC's in-depth annual reports since 2000. From 2002 to 2007 she coordinated two international awards - the APC Betinho Latin American and Hafkin Africa Communications Prizes.
Karen is a board member for the Inter-American Institute on Disability and Inclusive Development (IIDI). She lives in Uruguay though she's Welsh by birth. In addition to her life in APC, Karen is a musician.
